The Web Journal of Art and Education

The Web Journal of Art Education was developed in 2000 to discuss diverse themes in art and education as the communicative center of art educational society in Japan. It is indispensable for art educators in K-12, college and university, museum, and community to have an interdisciplinary communicative place to solve the problems which the field of art education faces now. In responding to these needs, we have been discussing the possibility of building a bridge for the last 5 years and finally published the web site, theWeb Journal of Art and Education (WebAE), in 2000.

Many Japanese art educators have participated in developing WebAE. Now we have 12 sub sites, each site with its specific theme of art and education.
