In 2000 and 2002, Dr. Brent Wilson of Pennsylvania State University and I, Masami Toku, had a great chance to interview people who belong to the world of visual culture in Japan and other countries. THe following are parts of interview records. Many records have been translated from Japanese to English by the editor, Masami Toku.
More than 20 People such as animators, managaka (Japanese cartoonists), manga critics, manga writers, and publishers agreed to do interviews ragardless of thier limited time. (they are incredibly busy people). We really appreciate those who gave us their precious time for our research interviews.
The interviews are ongoing and will be updated in time.
